She's out of OR, in ICU, doing "good".
Apparently, brain surgery makes you thirsty and it's painful. She's moving her fingers and toes, and even remembers to say "please and thank you" after every ice chip. If the nurses would let her, I think she'd sleep. Lee, our PICU nurse, seems really nice!
We ran into the Dr. in the elevator. The OR nurse bringing us up hit the "stop" button, so we had a little private meeting room. CT scan tomorrow morning, but for now, all is well and as expected.
There is one chair and one sofa bed in the ICU room for Kevin & me. No fighting: I get both. He won't leave Kassie's side...literally haunched over the rail. Can't wait to see her expression when she comes out of her fog and sees Dad watching and praying.
Some things never change. We can always sit for hours and contentedly watch our babies rest peacefully.
So glad she's out of surgery!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. You have me bawling over here. I love all your posts. Your analogy of the pear tree is so precious and so true. I will keep praying for just that. Love you lots and so glad she is okay. Keep posting. This will be such a treasure for her some day. Maybe you could print them and scrapbook them for her when all is well again. Is it okay for me to say I am so glad you are having it done? Love and prayers.
