Our time at Children's Hospital seems to be winding down. As lovely as the doctors and nurses were, I'm hoping that we'll never have to be back again. Kass came off all her lines quite early, and spent the day getting used to her pain meds. She wants to be sure that she has turned the corner before she gets stuck in a situation to which we have no solution to offer her. We are hopeful that we will have a very uneventful evening, and will be gearing up to leave tomorrow morning. For the most part, her pain is coming from her neck. During her surgery, many of the muscles were cut; this makes it difficult / tiring to hold her head for too long. Though her head "hurts", she thinks it is a different pain sensation than what she had experienced with the headaches. We are praying that as she continues to heal, this pain will also go away.
Today, Kass had four of her friends visit: Clair, Hannah, Michaela, and of course, Kimber. (Thanks Auntie and Sabrina for making the long drive in the rain.) Seeing her friends really cheered her up. I know many more visitors were asking/talking about coming up tomorrow. Please be sure to text or call before you come - because we might be gone! Yeah!
Kass is doing wonderfully! She is walking, eating, and can shower and wash her hair whenever she wants. No restrictions - except diving will have to wait 2 months.
Thank you all for your prayers and offers of hospitality and friendship! It was so fun to see all the different people from so many states praying and wishing us well. It really meant a lot to all of us.
Yay!!!

Praise the Lord! I'm so excited for you guys! Hang in there...having had throat and neck surgery, I can attest to wishing I didn't have to hold my head up and wanting to take it off and set it beside me...that's a funny picture :-)
